Hello under the Strawberry Moon,
June’s full moon arrived sweet and low on the horizon, a micromoon that still managed to cast a soft pinkish glow across the long evenings. Whether you were outside with a bowl of actual strawberries or simply letting the light pour through the studio windows, this one felt like the official start of the high season.
Moon lore
The name comes from Algonquin and other Northeastern Indigenous traditions marking the brief, precious window when wild strawberries (Fragaria virginiana) reach peak ripeness. The harvest is short—often only a couple of weeks—so the full moon became a calendar marker: when the moon is full, the berries are ready. Other cultures called it the Rose Moon, Honey Moon, or Mead Moon, tying it to early summer sweetness and the old tradition of newlyweds drinking honey wine under its light.
New & recent releases
Our soft-launch catalog continues to shine under this berry-bright sky. Chris McGrannahan’s Forever My Love EP remains the heartfelt centerpiece—intimate, story-driven songs built for late-night listening. Willie B Poppin’s The Pimple Song is still delivering pure streaming fun, and Ben Rownde’s Ah Woe Ah Me (that classic with the surprising family-plot twists) keeps finding new ears.
Full Moon Favorites
For each full moon cycle, I add another artist performance to our Full Moon Favorites page. There you’ll find a growing collection of inspiring music videos.
Thank you for being here. Whether you’re a fellow night-time creator or a casual moon lover — I’m really glad you’re part of this small circle.
We’ll do this again on the next full moon (Buck Moon on July 29). Until then, I hope the Strawberry Moon brings you a little extra magic.
With warmth under the same Full Moon,
Chris
